How to write a strong CV in Iraq
A good CV gets you the interview. Follow these steps — it takes about 15 minutes with the free CV builder.
1. Personal information
Your full name, phone number (one that works on WhatsApp), email and governorate. Date of birth, nationality and marital status are common in Iraqi CVs but optional.
2. A short professional summary
Two or three sentences: your job, years of experience and what you are good at. Write it for the job you want.
3. Work experience
Start with your latest job. For each job write the title, company, dates and two or three lines about what you did and achieved.
4. Education, courses and certificates
Your degree, university and graduation year, then courses and certificates such as ICDL, English courses, first aid or professional licences.
5. Skills and languages
List skills that match the job (for example Excel, AutoCAD, driving licence types, customer service) and your languages with their level.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Spelling mistakes and a wrong phone number.
- Long CVs with unrelated details.
- Sending a Word file that looks different on other devices — send a PDF.
